Not talking about Chris, who took this photo, but the three deer he spotted early in the morning at the bottom of the garden. We know that deer live in the woods above le Ban de la Roche, as we very occasionally see them when out walking. But it's unusual to see them in the garden!

Every year the wild cyclamen pop up in varying quantities in different parts of the garden. I was a bit worried that they shouldn't be flowering in February, but a bit of googling reassured me that any time between September and February is normal for these hardy little things. We had a group of Belgian paddle-boarders staying in the Garden Flat last weekend. Thank you Gunther for sending us this amazing photo of you taking part in the Gla Gla Race. Held in January of each year on Lake Annecy, the Gla Gla Race apparently attracts the world's best paddle-boarders with competitors flying in from as far as Australia.

Angon Waterfall (cascade d'Angon) is a 40 minute walk up above the house, through the woods. On Sunday, with a gaggle of 5 pre-teens, and temperatures just above freezing, we decided to cheat.
